https://variety.com/2024/tv/news/amazon-alex-cross-series-aldis-hodge-renewed-season-2-series-premiere-1235987125/
If “Cross” proves to be popular, it would be the latest successful Amazon series based on a long-running novel character. The company found themselves with a massive hit on their hands courtesy of “Reacher” starring Alan Ritchson, based on the Jack Reacher novels written by Lee Child. Likewise, Amazon’s longest-running series to date was the cop drama “Bosch,” based on the Harry Bosch novels written by Michael Connelly. Titus Welliver starred as Bosch and now leads the spinoff series “Bosch: Legacy” at Amazon Freevee. A second spinoff starring Maggie Q as cold case detective Renée Ballard is also in the works at Prime Video. Prime Video also airs “The Terminal List” starring Chris Pratt, which is based on a series of novels by Jack Carr, with a prequel series on the way, while the John Krasinski-led Jack Ryan series concluded in 2023 after four seasons.
This is old news, but after hearing about Jensen's show Countdown, and reading the blurb about all the action/cop series currently or previously airing on Amazon, it seems that's the genre route they seem to be taking... but if that's the case, is there even room for another one? Especially one who's titular character is not based on a previously known entity?
Not to mention, that Amazon was impressed enough with Cross to renew an unaired series for a second season. It makes me curious to see if Amazon seems just as impressed with Countdown.
Link. Another SPN one-time guest star does good and leading his own show.  Aldis Hodge is also the executive/producer. The character of Alex Cross has been around since 1997 when Morgan Freeman first played him.  Then Tyler Perry took over the role in 2012.
Every studio is cutting cost and number of projects, even Netflix.  The Countdown not based on established IP with built-in audience is less of a sure thing, but at least it's going to be cheaper. So cost wise, there is enough room for The Countdown.  Helped that Jensen is not as high tier as Adis Hodge and John Krasinski and Chris Pratt, and therefore Jensen is much less expensive. Plus Jensen is not an executive/producer so Amazon studios doesn't have to cut him a second check.  I had quite a few very angry Anon demanding that I revise/recant my claim that Jensen is not one of the producers of The Countdown because that means in their eyes Jared is still "winning" because he was an executive/producer of Walker.
Side note, Alex Cross and Reacher are produced by Paramount/Skydance and licensed to Amazon for distribution.

Bosch Legacy (Season 2)
Another brilliant season of Bosch. It feels authentic, has really interesting characters and stories. It's not too gory and the main focus is on solving the crimes. If you are a fan of the books by Michael Connelly, you will love this series because they really got Harry Bosch right.
The only issue I had with this season was that Harry Bosch didn't go out to eat as much as he does! Usually the books and this show always make me hungry because Bosch is always eating great food as he solves his cases.
Maurice and Honey Chandler are two of my other favourite characters on this show.
Cannot wait to watch season 3.

Angel City Preview
Coming hopefully in October, after Bosch: Legacy Season 2 Premiere. Back on my One Chicago/Bosch/original characters BS
Early (2010) look at Kim Burgess. Hope you enjoy. Feedback welcome.
Somewhere Over America
Kim Burgess sighs as she feels the light touch of a stray hand over the ass of her wool pants. She checks her watch, wondering when the interminable flight from Kingston, Jamaica to LA would end. They had completed their one refueling stop, that had been when the suspected owner of the hand had come on, loud and demanding personal service from her. She had already endured a couple of other ghost touches.
She exhales, wondering how she had gotten so lucky to draw first class with the senior flight attendant, a few short months shy of her twenty-second birthday. Ordinarily she’d be gratified and proud of the assignment, but that asshole had tested her patience.
Kim moves into the alcove aft of the flight deck. She nods at the senior flight attendant, an older Black man with the telltale accent of Jamaica. His wise, knowing eyes lock on hers. She raises her right hand, palm out, dismissing his thoughts. She’d never be able to prove the errant hand on her ass had belonged to Mr. Big, as she’d come to call him, with his interminable bleating about how important he was. A couple of other passengers had been squeezing past her when the hand had settled on her ass for a short instant. If she’d been able to, she would’ve used the defensive tactics she’d been working on in her layover time and twist his hand, making a scene. One that would probably entail the plane landing before its destination.
She opens the door to the forward head and steps in, locking it behind her. She turns on the hot water and splashes some on her face. She gazes at herself for a moment. She sees a young woman with reasonably high cheekbones, surrounding large, brown eyes. Her few lovers had often remarked on her eyes, both before she’d succumbed to their charms and taken them to her bed, during, and after, when she lay in their arms, usually before they had fallen asleep, and she had stolen from the bed, gathering her clothes and leaving.
As she looks at herself, for about the hundredth time, she sees herself clad in the light blue shirt and dark blue external vest carrier of a Chicago police officer. She shakes that thought, that daydream away.
You’ve got to actually start applying and stop dreaming, she thinks to herself ruefully.
The light above a certain seat lights up with the telltale ding as she steps out from the head. She sighs as she sees the location. She starts to move towards Mr. Big, but another dings, towards the front and closer to her. She sees that Jerry, the senior attendant moves out and passes that seat and beats her to Mr. Big.
She looks down at the owner of the seat that had summoned her. She feels her eyes widen as the brown eyes gaze back at her, bright with laughter and a slight twinkle. She notices that the woman has a smattering of freckles dusted over her cheekbones, over pale skin and definite high cheekbones. There is a slight elongated cast to the eyes, something that she doesn’t usually equate with freckles. The woman is clad in a dress that would probably cost Kim’s monthly take-home pay, if not her gross paycheck.
“Hello,” she says with a slight English accent. “I don’t want anything, but thought you could use some conversation, rather than serving Mr. Grabbyhands back there.” Her lips split into a grin. “Not that I blame him,” she adds, her eyes taking on a sly cast.
Kim raises her eyebrows at the obvious flirting. She glances back at the rest of the passengers forward of the curtain. There are only a few; the flight isn’t full. She returns her gaze to the woman, who appears to only be a few years older than she is. As Jerry has taken care of Mr. Big, getting him a drink, she sits down in the empty chair across the aisle, but not before she brings another Beefeater’s and tonic to the woman.
As she sits, and turns to the woman, she extends her hand. “Krystina Davies,” she says.
Kim introduces herself and starts to relax. Jerry grins at her as he passes with the fourth scotch and soda for Mr. Big. Knowing Jerry from a few other trips, it would be the man’s last.
“So you’re sure that you can stand another forty minutes of my awesomeness?”  she asks, taking the woman’s hand.
“Oh, I’ll make do,” the woman snarks back at her. “Maybe you can show me LA. I’ve never been before.” Her eyes take on a distant look. “After I see my father.”
As Kim gets up from the seat and prepares to do the final trash run before landing, she looks through an open curtain. A young Black woman with medium dark skin and large brown eyes, seated in the beginning of coach class, is staring at Krystina. Her eyes lock with Kim’s.
She wonders about it, as she watches the woman follow Krystina off of the plane, out of the gate.

Mandy McAllister’s younger brother will look a little different when he resurfaces on Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage.
The Young Sheldon spinoff has cast Dougie Baldwin (Disjointed) in the series-regular role of Connor, TVLine has learned. He succeeds Joseph Apollonio, who originated the role of Mandy’s sib in a Season 6 episode of the Big Bang Theory prequel.
In Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, Connor is “a talented oddball with musical prowess who still lives with his parents,” according to the official character breakdown. “Coddled by his mother, Audrey, and hassled by his father, Jim, Connor doesn’t fit in — even in his own family.”
Tumblr media
Additionally, Jessie Prez (Griselda) has boarded the spinoff as Ruben, a long-time employee at Jim’s tire store “who is less than enthusiastic about the shop’s newest hire: Jim’s son-in-law, Georgie.”
Baldwin previously co-starred opposite Kathy Bates in the Chuck Lorre Netflix comedy Disjointed. The Aussie actor’s previous TV credits also include Upper Middle Bogan and the International Emmy Award-winning Nowhere Boys.
Prez, meanwhile, recently co-starred as infamous drug dealer Sal Magluta in Netflix’s Emmy-nominated Griselda. Additional credits include episodes of 9-1-1: Lone Star, Abbott Elementary, Bosch: Legacy, The Rookie: Feds and Shameless.
Baldwin and Prez join fellow Georgie & Mandy regulars Montana Jordan, Emily Osment, Will Sasso and Rachel Bay Jones. Young Sheldon’s Zoe Perry and Annie Potts will guest-star in the pilot, while Raegan Revord will appear in Episode 2.
Tumblr media
The title Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is a play on previously established Big Bang Theory lore: In the hit sitcom’s 2019 series finale, Nobel Prize winner Sheldon said he received congratulatory texts from Georgie’s ex-wife… and Georgie’s other ex-wife.
During a recent interview with TVLine, Osment expressed hope that the new show would find a way to undo (or at the very least tinker with) Georgie’s marital history.
“I’m hoping that I’m the ex-wife and the new wife,” she said. “People get divorced and remarried. Why can’t she be both?”
Judging by the title, it sounds like that’s precisely what producers have in mind.
Unlike single-camera comedy Young Sheldon, multi-cam Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage will shoot in front of a live studio audience — just like The Big Bang Theory. The highly anticipated spinoff premieres Thursday, Oct. 17, at 8/7c, on CBS.
